SDLT rates from 4 December 2014

Stamp Duty Land Tax is charged at different rates depending on the portion of the purchase price that falls into each rate band.

Commercial SDLT structure - 0% on properties up to 150k, 2% on next 100k and 5% on any slice above 250k – for website calculator.

Buy-To-Let and Second Homes from 1 April 2016

Higher rates of Stamp Duty Land Tax will be charged on purchases of additional properties above £40,000.

An extra 3% will be payable for buy-to-let properties and second homes, from 1 April 2016.
